Department: Farm
Non-Exempt (Full Time)
Starting Pay: $16.50-$18.50 per hour based on experience
Employee begins accruing PTO after 6 months of employment
Full Time – 2 weeks of PTO each year
Part Time – 1 week of PTO each year
Paid sick days and mental health days
Resumes accepted on a rolling basis, we expect to fill this position by spring 2025
Job Summary:
As a member of the Smokebrush Farm department, it is crucial we are able to adapt to evolving situations as part of an ever-growing project. Along with the rest of the farm team, you will be responsible for maintaining the entire physical property. This position reports directly to the farm manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uphold the protocols and procedures of the company
- Responsible for Opening/Closing Duties as scheduled by Farm Manager
- Seeding, planting, weeding, harvesting, and general plant care
- Carrying out of daily farm tasks, including animal chores
- Keeping the properties clean, neat, organized and visually appealing.
- Ensure all outdoor areas, paths and stairs around the property are safe and clean for guests.
- Work on any/all projects delegated by Farm Manager
- Familiarization with every growing plant/fungi organism and animal living on site.

- Basic hand and power tool operation, skills, and safety knowledge
- Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
- Must have means of transportation to and from properties evenings and mornings
- Respect the environment and peacefulness and tranquility while getting job accomplished
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Farming skills/knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Customer service skills
- Cooking and Food preparation skills preferred
Physical Requirements:
Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, squat and bend
Ability to lift, push and pull required 65lbs
Walk up and down stairs and navigate rough terrain carrying heavy loads. A typical day on the farm could include up to 5 miles in walking.
Ability to be outside working on the hottest days of summer and the coldest days of winter.

Company Overview
Smokebrush Foundation for the Arts operates 365 days a year and includes 3 historic mansions that all rest on 5 ½ acres of a regenerative urban farm. The farm team tends to the animals and food plants, and works with the maintenance crew to maintain the extensive grounds. The farm team is also in continuous communication with all other departments to make sure all needs are met within the organization’s many facets (innkeeping, events, retreats, retail, etc).
The goal is to tend to the Earth in a way that honors rhythms, harmonies, and cycles by following regenerative practices and permaculture principles, while providing opportunities for guests and participants to have a safe and wonderful experience.
