The African Brazilian martial art of Capoeira combines acrobatic movement, music, African cultural references, and societal philosophies in an art form that enhances physical strength, flexibility, balance, and agility.
Training in Capoeira also engenders musicality by learning to play traditional instruments while vocalizing lyrics in Portuguese. Promoting consciousness, self-awareness, and personal development is inherent to this art form, which will fit in perfectly with Smokebrush’s arts and cultural experiences.
